About NeighbourBox
NeighbourBox
A more organised, privacy-focused way for hyperlocal communities to share, sell, lend, and help each other.

NeighbourBox is a free teen summer project built to solve a simple problem in real communities. Many condos, schools, neighbourhoods, and local groups already use tools like WhatsApp groups to sell items, give things away, ask for help, or borrow things. But those tools are messy, hard to search, not built for listings, and often expose people's phone numbers or private details.

NeighbourBox is designed as an organised, privacy-focused alternative for hyperlocal communities. Members can post items to sell, give away, lend, borrow, offer classes or services, and report lost and found items — all in one place. Instead of sharing phone numbers publicly, people chat inside the app, keeping communication safer and easier to manage.

The goal isn't to replace big marketplaces, but to make small, trusted communities work better. A condo, school, university, or neighbourhood should have its own private space where people can exchange useful things with people nearby.

Sell, give away, lend & borrow
Post items to sell or give away for free, lend things out, or ask to borrow what you need.
Classes & services
Offer small local services and community classes — tuition, music lessons, coaching, and more.
Lost & found
Report lost items or help return found ones within your own community.
Private in-app chat
Talk to other members inside the app. Your phone number stays hidden — no numbers shared publicly.
Trusted communities
Each condo, school, university, or neighbourhood gets its own private, members-only space.
Safety & moderation
Community supervisors and automated checks keep listings safe. NeighbourBox is for adults 18+.
NeighbourBox is still an early test version, built free of cost as a learning project. Feedback is very welcome — it genuinely helps improve it. Share feedback or get help here.
