NeighbourBox is a free teen summer project built to solve a simple problem in real communities. Many condos, schools, neighbourhoods, and local groups already use tools like WhatsApp groups to sell items, give things away, ask for help, or borrow things. But those tools are messy, hard to search, not built for listings, and often expose people's phone numbers or private details.
NeighbourBox is designed as an organised, privacy-focused alternative for hyperlocal communities. Members can post items to sell, give away, lend, borrow, offer classes or services, and report lost and found items — all in one place. Instead of sharing phone numbers publicly, people chat inside the app, keeping communication safer and easier to manage.
The goal isn't to replace big marketplaces, but to make small, trusted communities work better. A condo, school, university, or neighbourhood should have its own private space where people can exchange useful things with people nearby.
